However, I am now a fan of what I think also went on during the '60's.
And that is this:
Ho5:For America's young men during the 1960's, the massive cultural wheel labeled "what should you worship as heroic" turned 1 rpd (revolution per decade) away from the image of the "soldier/warrior as sacrificer of the self to god and/or to duty and/or to country" as answer.
It didn't necessarily give us new images to follow (nor did "it" give us the formula for how to deal with the concept sacrifice*), but rather it ended up being up to each and everyone of us to choose our own path to follow.
I ended up choosing Objectivism.
